Many non-profit organizations like The Rainbow Society of Alberta and The Children’s Link Society, rely on and appreciate the wonderful help they receive from corporate supporters. This helps fund and support the many programs that operate for Alberta’s children. Companies are constantly receiving requests for donations or financial aid from a number of worthy organizations. This is just one of the many reasons why the Alberta Community Clothing Collection Ltd program is unique.

In July of 2012, The Rainbow Society and the Children’s Link Society partnered with Alberta Community Clothing Collection Ltd, the Alberta division of Trans Continental Textile Recycling Ltd, is working with Alberta based charities to help with the constant need for funding.

We’re now approaching local corporate citizens and asking them if they’d be willing to host collection bins at their locations. The various clothing bins are decaled with the logos of both these charities, explaining what the bin is supporting. The clothing bin can also be decaled mentioning that it is proudly sponsored by the host site.

This is a new and exciting program that doesn’t cost us any money or time to administer or participate in, so it’s a windfall for our non-profit societies. We’re pleased to be involved on a number of levels. First and foremost, it will help fund the many wonderful programs that are provided to deserving children throughout Alberta. Secondly, they become part of a recycling program that reduces the global foot print that we all leave behind for our children.

Please take a moment to browse the Trans Continental Textile Recycling website. This website explains the complete path an item takes once it has been donated to a collection bank.
